Making a period emergency bag/kit

One of the worst things is getting your period unexpectedly with nothing to help if that's in school or work or even if you are just out at a friend or on a road trip, but no matter where it happens or even if it's expected it is always ideal to have a period kit ready to go that can be in your handbag or backpack. It is very easy to make this on a budget as well. what you will need: Pain killers to take the edge off if needed Sanitary products (whatever you use, reusable products, tampons, pads, or even a period cup or two.) Spare pair of underwear A snack  Sanitary wipes to clean up Bag for used products (for if you are somewhere you cant dispose of disposable sanitary products or to store used products to take home to clean if it's reusable) Bag to store everything in so its easy to grab hand sanitiser for if you get blood on your hands and need to clean up quick Of course, if you think of anything else that could be useful then add that in as well this is just what I fo...

Testing period apps

One thing I find hard about tracking my period is finding the right app to make sure that while I'm on the go, I can be protected. I know my cycle is twenty-six days long and lasts five days, and I also know my luteal phase is Twelve days long. I feel my ovulation cramps start (yes I can feel when I ovulate and its surprisingly always be accurate) I normally use Ovia Fertility and find it is always spot on but it got me thinking there are so many period apps out there that I wonder how accurate that would be for me and my cycle. I have tried a few before that I find haven't been correct, but I was determined to find the best app once and for all. Not only for myself but for you ladies too.   I went back on my Ovia feed and recorded every single period I have had in 2020 and put it onto twelve different apps and waited a month to see which one would be correct. I decided to download: Clue Endometrix Eve Flo Flutter My endo app QENDO Visana Period diary Period tracker And apple h...

Signs You Might Have Endometriosis

When I first started developing signs of endometriosis doctors wouldn't believe me or my mother about what was going on, the pain I was experiencing and more. last month I made a post talking about how my symptoms have progressed over the years but this month I have decided to talk about signs that you might have endometriosis. Painful periods are a major interactor of endometriosis. periods should never be painful. painful sexual intercourse, while sometimes pain during sex is normal when you have endometriosis from what I have experienced and heard from other suffers is pain during and afterwards, sometimes to the point of passing out or throwing up. Cramping or pain during bowel movements or urination.  Infertility. Excessive bleeding this is one of my biggest signs is excessive bleeding, I go through so many pads it isn't even funny. You may also experience:  fatigue  diarrhea constipation bloating  nausea

How My First Symptoms Have Progressed

I have had endometriosis for as long as I can remember and because of that I have seen my symptoms grow and new symptoms form so I decided to tell you a bit about how my irst ever symptoms have progressed. the earliest symptoms I remember were painful periods, heavy periods and long periods. I was an early bloomer getting my first period really young and then not getting one again until like a year later (I had spotted in between times) and after that, I was full-on regular. my periods started out at seven days long all good and well but by the time I was ten my periods were upwards of twelve to fourteen days long that was when I was put on birth control which put my periods back to seven days long and then after I fell pregnant at fourteen and had my miscarriage my periods went to five days long and haven't changed since. I remember missing days from school because I would be crying nonstop and vomiting because of the pain. in middle school, it got to the point where some days I c...

Endometriosis Surgery

On the twenty-second of July 2020, I had my Endometriosis surgery after ten years of waiting.  The Video For Surgery I had to wake up at six-forty to get ready for surgery. I took a quick shower and headed to the hospital. By 10:30 I was in the operating room. the atmosphere was really calming and they walked me through everything that was happening. the whole team was male except a few nurses which I would have normally freaked out about but I was freaking out about what they would find when they went in. When I came out of the operating room and woke up it was confirmed with pictures that I had endometriosis. there wasn't a lot but there was new growth growing on the wall between my uterus and intestines that they couldn't get. what they could remove they did and have sent away for testing. my doctor thinks the reason I had so little is because I have been on birth control since I was ten and while it has made my symptoms worse it has stopped the growth; and now that I have g...

How To Cope With Pain

If you have a chronic illness (or even if you live in pain on the daily) even if it isn't endometriosis you know that pain can be hard to handle especially when it is recurring and nothing seems to help so here is a list of five ways to cope with endometriosis pain, leave in the comments what you use to deal with your pain. now I want to start by saying pain killers but that is a lie, well for me at least. my pain killers don't work sadly and all they do is put me to sleep which I guess can be a good thing because I get very little sleep when I am in pain. tens machine:   A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation ( TENS )  unit  is a device that sends small electrical currents to targeted body parts. These currents are used to relieve pain. I find this helpful because It distracts my mind enough that the pain numbs a tad so it isn't so intense. weighted blanket: I love my weighted blanket, it is exactly that a blanket that is weighted. they are meant to ...

Castor oil pack | what are they and how to make them

YouTube Video:  How to make a castor oil pack castor oil packs are amazing for a lot of things because of their ability to promote healing, improve circulation especially lymphatic circulation. it has also been found to reduce symptoms of constipation and reduce inflammation which is why it is perfect for what us sufferers call endo belly. for those who may not be familiar with the term or have come across my blog to learn more about endometriosis. Endo belly is when the stomach swells to make you look very much pregnant, this symptom is actually reported by 83% of sufferers, typically you will wake up with a flat stomach and your stomach grows throughout the day just like bloat. a castor oil pack is placed over the top of the area you need it for, I typically place it over my belly button and down near my pelvic bone which I find works well for me when it comes to the bloat. Making a castor oil pack is pretty straight forward, you will need: Three layers of undyed wool ...

Endometriosis diet

the endometriosis diet (also known as the endo diet) is a diet that endometriosis sufferers sometimes go on in hopes of managing there pain and symptoms. while the endo diet didn't work for me i have heard many success stories from women who tried it. in this post, i will be going over what the actual diet is and more tips like that to try and help you. it is with giving it a try because while not everything will work for you you may notice some things that work better than others and the worst that will happen is you go off it because it didn't work like me. foods that may worsen your symptoms are: foods that are high in trans fat: so that things like crackers, cookies, cakes, frozen pies, and other baked goods, coffee creamer and microwave popcorn. red meat gluten high FODMAP: so things like garlic, onion, grains, sweeteners and legumes. alcohol caffeine dairy products things that are good to eat are: fibrous foods: so things like fruits and vegetables. i...

My endometriosis journey

TMI warning, blood, and all the beautifulness of female periods  this blog post is about a brief overview of how i found out about my suspected endometriosis and the journey so far that i have had with this illness my journey with this condition started when i was around six or seven years old when i had my first period. yes, i was an early bloomer.  my periods were irregular until i was nine years old. my mum always knew when another period was about to hit because i started getting pain from ovulation though until my period finished and i was very moody so she just knew. i was in and out of doctors for the pain for years, at ten i was put on birth control to try and stop my ten-fourteen day periods that were very heavy down to seven days which worked but not with the flow. at this point, i was missing a few days of school a month. by age fourteen i was in and out of the emergency room and different doctors for the pain, i was vomiting, curled up in pain, missing tw...
