Making a period emergency bag/kit

One of the worst things is getting your period unexpectedly with nothing to help if that's in school or work or even if you are just out at a friend or on a road trip, but no matter where it happens or even if it's expected it is always ideal to have a period kit ready to go that can be in your handbag or backpack.

It is very easy to make this on a budget as well.

what you will need:
  • Pain killers to take the edge off if needed
  • Sanitary products (whatever you use, reusable products, tampons, pads, or even a period cup or two.)
  • Spare pair of underwear
  • A snack
  • Sanitary wipes to clean up
  • Bag for used products (for if you are somewhere you cant dispose of disposable sanitary products or to store used products to take home to clean if it's reusable)
  • Bag to store everything in so its easy to grab
  • hand sanitiser for if you get blood on your hands and need to clean up quick
Of course, if you think of anything else that could be useful then add that in as well this is just what I found helpful.

Do you have a period bag that hasn't something else you feel is a must-have? let me know in the comments.

My 5 Endometriosis must haves

As an Endometrisoisis suffer i am no stranger to debilitating pain on a consistent basis, because of this i have found a few things that work for me and i am going to share my must-have endometriosis items.   castor oil pack-  now these are super easy to make and i actually have a tutorial on my youtube channel on how to make one  click to go to the video . i love these because they actually help reduce my bloating if i catch it in time. electric blanket-  now i don't mean the ones that you put under the sheets on your bed i mean the ones you take with you on the couch and plug into the powerpoint, they are also known as heating pads in America.    coffee-  i do know this doesn't help everyone but for me at least when i get really crampy and its that kind of pain you get with bowel endometriosis that is so painful but you can't physically go  (if you know then you know)  coffee helps me get things moving  *TMI*  and help reduce that pain. an animal- yes  i

Resources to learn more about Endometriosis

While my book on endometriosis is finally in the editing stages, it has a while until it will be ready to be published. Still, I got to thinking about what resources there are now about endo, not only from a medical standpoint but also from a sufferers point of view. I found books for sale as well as other blog posts, which was amazing to see how much there is out there. Still, it got me thinking, people who don't know what they are looking for might never find any of these resources, so I thought I would make a blog post detailing what each resource is about and the link to that resource as well as ways you yourself can find information.  Disclaimer: Podcasts will not be involved in this post, but I do have a post on my blog from May 2021 all about endometriosis podcasts if that's what you are looking for.  So how do you find resources? The easiest way to find resources in your area would be to search up online Endometriosis and your area. Example. Endometriosis San Diego  Th

Risk factors for having endo

Something I’m asked a lot is does having Endometroisis put me at risk? And in todays blog post I want to talk about it.  Although ovarian cancer occurs at higher rates in women with endometriosis,  the overall lifetime risk is low to begin with . Some studies suggest that endometriosis increases that risk, but it's still relatively low. Endometriosis can cause uterine tissue to grow in the intestines in anywhere from  3 to 37 percent of women Trusted Source  with the condition. In rare cases, the tissue can cause bleeding and scarring that leads to  intestinal obstruction (blockage of the intestine). A small bowel obstruction can cause symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, and problems passing gas or stool. If left untreated, a bowel obstruction can cause pressure to build up, possibly resulting in a bowel perforation (a hole in the bowel). A blockage can also decrease blood supply to the intestines. Both can be fatal. Ectopic pregnancy An  ectopic pregnancy  occurs when a ferti
