Ten gift ideas for an endo warrior

Christmas is right around the corner, so starting to look at gift ideas is given by now, especially if you are on a budget. It can be hard to work out what to get someone as a gift if you want to give them something related to or that could possibly help them with their endometriosis struggle. I decided to make a list of some of the amazing things out there that you could buy your loved one with endometriosis. Resources to learn more about Endometriosis

While my book on endometriosis is finally in the editing stages, it has a while until it will be ready to be published. Still, I got to thinking about what resources there are now about endo, not only from a medical standpoint but also from a sufferers point of view. I found books for sale as well as other blog posts, which was amazing to see how much there is out there. Still, it got me thinking, people who don't know what they are looking for might never find any of these resources, so I thought I would make a blog post detailing what each resource is about and the link to that resource as well as ways you yourself can find information.  Disclaimer: Podcasts will not be involved in this post, but I do have a post on my blog from May 2021 all about endometriosis podcasts if that's what you are looking for.  So how do you find resources? The easiest way to find resources in your area would be to search up online Endometriosis and your area. Example. Endometriosis San Diego...

Ways to boost your mood

When you are in pain consistently, your mood can take a turn for the worst. I have spent years in a rut with my emotions because of the consistent and intense pain endo causes. Sometimes all you need is a pick me up and these are the ways that I boost my mood. Rest: Your body goes through a lot so sometimes the best thing to do is rest, That could be to game or take a nap. Relax: I love to relax in a nice hot bath with Epsom salts but relaxing could just be laying in bed with a candlelit or incense  Zone out: I love to either have a podcast, movie or music playing and to just zone the world out.  Do what makes you happy: go out with friends or just do something that makes you feel happy  Exercise and eating well can also impact your mood so try and stay active and eat as well as possible.

Telling your loved one about endometriosis

When it comes to starting a new relationship, there is something I always dread. Telling my partner about endometriosis, and while this post isn't just about telling your partner about your endometriosis but any loved on this post will defiantly help you navigate having to tell that special person in your life about your illness. So how do you communicate about living with endometriosis? Learn more about endometriosis: this way, you can give real information to whoever you are talking to without spreading misinformation. Talk about how it affects you personally: Everyone suffers differently, so telling the person how it affects you can make it easier for them to understand; they may have noticed some things like you being more tired randomly or bloating up. This will help them connect your diagnosis to symptoms.  Timing: Timing is everything. My partner will lay down in bed, can be having a conversation, and will be fast asleep seconds later and not remember a thing we talked...

What to expect with laparoscopic surgery

It's been a year this month since I had to have laparoscopic surgery to officially diagnose me with Endometriosis after many years of suffering from Endometriosis with no idea if it actually was or not.  To mark the year anniversary, I thought I would talk all about what to expect with laparoscopic surgery. Preparing: Talk to your doctor and find out if you will be staying overnight when you can go back to work or school, and anything they want you to do to prepare will be beneficial, so you are not stressing last minute. Every doctor is different as well with how they want everything post-surgery to go. Having a clean house will make life so much easier. You won't want to be doing much, let alone cleaning, so having a clean environment will mean one less thing to worry about. Pre-prepared meals. Cooking meals in advance and freezing them or buying premade meals will mean if you live by yourself, you can quickly heat up your food, or if you live with your partner, it wil...

Travelling with Endometriosis

Living with Endometriosis is a nightmare, but it can be made worse so quickly when you have to travel.  Growing up each year, we would go away on holiday. Sometimes it was a drive up the country; other times, it was a flight, but each trip was almost always around my birthday. Every year for my birthday, I would have my period, so it was a living nightmare to enjoy my trip away while suffering, but I have a few tips to help you on your travelling journey that I have learned over the years. Travel with a Heating pack and Tens unit: If you are like me and you use hot water bottles and electric throw blankets as your heating pack at home, you can buy small heating packs for travelling to help combat some of that uncomfortable feeling. You can also bring your TENS unit with you as well. Bring your medications and sanitary products: Don't be like me and think you will be okay without them because you are in a good time with your endo at the moment. I did this one year and landed up ge...
