My book on Endometriosis

A few years back, I started writing a book all about endometriosis with details on my story, other peoples stories and just facts and information on this horrible condition.

The book was the whole reason I started this blog because I realised just how little awareness there was at the time about this condition. I wanted to help change that and to spread awareness as far as I could to not only get answers about how endometriosis is caused but also to try and get some sort of cure so that we don’t have to suffer anymore.

Now a few years on, and I’m finally in the editing stages of the book. I had to wait a while for my surgery to be performed, but after that was done, I sat down and finished writing.

Editing this book is more challenging than any other book I have edited before because I have to check all of my references to make sure the information to date is still correct.

I estimate that by June 2022, I will have finished editing everything, and then I can start trying to get it published so that the world can see just how horrible this condition is.

Resources to learn more about Endometriosis

While my book on endometriosis is finally in the editing stages, it has a while until it will be ready to be published. Still, I got to thinking about what resources there are now about endo, not only from a medical standpoint but also from a sufferers point of view. I found books for sale as well as other blog posts, which was amazing to see how much there is out there. Still, it got me thinking, people who don't know what they are looking for might never find any of these resources, so I thought I would make a blog post detailing what each resource is about and the link to that resource as well as ways you yourself can find information.  Disclaimer: Podcasts will not be involved in this post, but I do have a post on my blog from May 2021 all about endometriosis podcasts if that's what you are looking for.  So how do you find resources? The easiest way to find resources in your area would be to search up online Endometriosis and your area. Example. Endometriosis San Diego  Th

Risk factors for having endo

Something I’m asked a lot is does having Endometroisis put me at risk? And in todays blog post I want to talk about it.  Although ovarian cancer occurs at higher rates in women with endometriosis,  the overall lifetime risk is low to begin with . Some studies suggest that endometriosis increases that risk, but it's still relatively low. Endometriosis can cause uterine tissue to grow in the intestines in anywhere from  3 to 37 percent of women Trusted Source  with the condition. In rare cases, the tissue can cause bleeding and scarring that leads to  intestinal obstruction (blockage of the intestine). A small bowel obstruction can cause symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, and problems passing gas or stool. If left untreated, a bowel obstruction can cause pressure to build up, possibly resulting in a bowel perforation (a hole in the bowel). A blockage can also decrease blood supply to the intestines. Both can be fatal. Ectopic pregnancy An  ectopic pregnancy  occurs when a ferti
