10 things not to say to an Endometriosis suffer

Endometriosis is a lonely condition that can be made worse by people who are trying to be helpful but are saying some of the strangest things.  We know that they are just trying to be helpful but when we are in pain sometimes things people say just make us snap which really affects our relationships and while we try not to get upset it isn’t always easy so I thought I would make a list of 10 things not to say to an endometriosis suffer.  Just take some pain killers and get over it.  But you don’t look sick.  At least it’s not…. Have you tried hot water bottle/ibuprofen/yoga/keto? When will you start trying for children.  Didn’t surgery cure you? I get cramps too.  You’re too young to be sick Mind over matter just think positively.  My daughter, friend. etc has that and she's fine There are so many more but those are the ones that really get to me.  Let me know which you hate hearing the most in the comments.

Reusable Period products

Reusable period products can save you so much money if you are willing to give them a try.  I’m the sort of person who has to wear maternity pads every period because of how much I bleed but that leads to horrible pad rash for me so I decided to give reusable products a go and I don’t think I’ll ever go back.  Now I use period underwear and a mensual cup and I still have to use maternity pads on my heaviest day but the rest of my cycle I use my reusable products.  I’m have four pairs of period underwear from three different brands all of them say they are super flow (4 tampons worth) which isn’t the greatest. I have Teo from the same brand (mint brand) and wear them on my first and last day of my period. I use my u by Kotex period underwear on day two and my libra on day four. If I’m going out instead of tampons I’ll insert my period cup.  I know reusable products aren’t for everyone but I would spend so much money on pads to go through them super fast so I fin...

There is a lot of unknown information about endometriosis and a lot is known but not commonly shared which is what I am going to do today.  1.)  Inguinal endometriosis  is a rare condition, accounting for 0.3%–0.6% of patients affected by endometriosis, with fewer than 60 cases reported in the literature. inguinal Endometroisis   usually presents as painful/tender inguinal mass and is most often mistaken for incarcerated hernia and other inguinal lesions 2.) Endometrisis can spread to the lungs and brain 3.) endometrisis has been found in males but  Only a few cases of endometriosis in me n have been reported in the literature 4.) endometrisis has been found in infants 5.) Women in the deep endometriosis group had a statistically significant excess of blue eyes and a reduced proportion of brown eyes

The differences between ablation and laparoscopic surgery

Today we will be talking about t he differences between ablation and  laparoscopic . Pros and cons of both First let’s look at Endometriosis  ablation.  ablation Is when they is a procedure that surgically destroys (ablates) the lining of your uterus (endometrium). The goal of endometrial ablation is to reduce menstrual flow. In some women, menstrual flow may stop completely. No incisions are needed for endometrial ablation. Your doctor inserts slender tools through the passageway between your vagina and uterus (cervix).   Pros Periods should lighten or stop completely within a few months. Uterus and other pelvic organs remain intact. Minimally invasive, no incisions  Often results in improved quality of life for most women Cons Not recommended if you still want to have children Pregnancy after ablation, while rare, carries risk of miscarriage and complications. Bleeding may still occur after ablation, a hysterectomy may be needed in the future. The procedure ca...

How I parent when in loads of pain from my endometriosis

Parenting is a 24/7 job, especially when you are a stay at home parent. Through sickness and health you have to be their for them and that includes when you are in pain.  My daughter is almost a year old and I now have a lot of experience of parenting through pain, I will admit I was nervous at first but since then I have learned ways to manage and still be the best mother possible.  When I feel my pain increase to a dangerous level  indicating that I might not be able to walk the next day I prepare my daughter‘s food and everything she’ll need for the day and put it on the end of my bed so that if I can’t walk I can still care for her the best way I can.  Because pain killers don’t work for me if I just have cramps I will curl up on the couch and turn on the television for her and let her roam the house only getting up if she needs me or wants me.  I am partially lucky because being around kids knowing I have to look after them puts a mental block on the ...

Five Misconceptions about endometriosis

Because not a lot is known about Endometriosis there is a lot of misconceptions out there about this terrible condition and I will be covering five of them today and debunking them.  One: everyone has painful periods This one really annoys me because periods are meant to be uncomfortable but not painful, if you have painful periods there is something underlying causing the pain like Endometriosis but it doesn’t always have to be Endometriosis.  Two: The symptoms is just heavy bleeding and pain Again this one really annoys me because there is a lot more to Endometriosis than just heavy bleeding and pain which definitely are common symptoms but it can cause so many more issues for woman and some woman might not even have any symptoms at all.  Three: Endometriosis only affects the pelvic region  Now the most common place for Endometriosis is the pelvic region but this horrible condition spreads like fire all around the body and has even been found in the lungs an...
